BASIC SCIENCE

Basic science is the essential, minimal, required knowledge about body structure, it’s functions and healthy lifestyle. It will be helpful to get an idea about the diseases, patterns of presentation, complications etc.


Sri lankan education system, which is updated and modified based on the current advances in technology still lacks the practical part of implementation lacking practical demonstrations, models and updated current approach. When students are visiting our field health activity (FHA), they can get practical exposure and can get updated effective ideas about what they studied so far and enrich their knowledge for further studies.


The Medical  Exhibition of 2018 by the faculty of medicine, University of Jaffna  with the quote of “Health towards new horizons” is aimed at enriching public knowledge with fundamentals and advances in medical field to enhance the life of all the participants and thereby the community.


Our group is doing the most important part of it providing the knowledge of basic science and a clear idea to public about the normal structure, functions, and abnormalities in pre-existing diseases, their varying symptoms of presentation and some ways of preventing the diseases by healthy life style.


We hope the society with sufficient knowledge in basic science will face the current health burden of pre existing and emerging diseases successfully and end up with improved health indices and reduced mortality and morbidity.
